"Not only is he a respected lawyer, he is active in the community, involved with several charitable organizations, and has a personal interest in asthma. Bauer was appointed to fill an open seat on the Board of Directors and will begin serving his term immediately. "I am delighted to be joining the Board. Having suffered from asthma as a child, I know how important the work of the Asthma Consortium is. I am looking forward to working on this very worthwhile cause."

St. Louis Regional Asthma Consortium is a not-for-profit, community-based effort to bring together the wealth of talent and resources available in the St. Louis area to improve the health and quality of life of people living with asthma. According to a study by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, St. Louis ranks number 6 of the 100 worst cities in the nation for those with asthma. In certain parts of the region, as many as 15 to 20 percent of children under the age of 18 suffer from asthma, approximately three time the national average. In Eastern Missouri alone, asthma related costs total more than $75 million.

The mission of the St. Louis Regional Asthma Consortium is to close the gap between people affected by asthma and the knowledge and services that will help them.
