Objective:
The Consortium's Advocacy Committee promotes community-wide improvements in asthma care. A key committee objective is promoting increased use of the National Asthma Awareness and Education Program's (NAAEP) diagnosis and treatment guidelines. Another aim of the Advocacy Committee is to increase asthma awareness among those most at risk for asthma-related illness and death throughout the St. Louis region. This past year the Advocacy Committee sponsored an Exercise Induced Asthma Seminar for physical education teachers and coaches and asthma screenings in the heart of the St. Louis community.
